Unable to fight back

Unable to rescue me

I imagine your calm voice
Not speaking,
just a sigh
Maybe then I'd say I know you
Because really, I don't
You're just a face stuck in time
A face that sees into my soul
The face behind these broken words
Our hearts beat in unison
One calling out for the other
One waiting on the other
But only death can unite us
Because I have no idea
who you are
or where you are
You're just a painting on a wall
Staring into the naked eyes of my soul
